About you
You are an expert communicator who has managed CRM strategy. You are highly articulate and obsessed with optimising your channel’s performance. You are a Blueshift black belt and can demonstrate a deep understanding of user segmentation and data-driven marketing strategies. You are hyper-curious, analytical and capable of delving deep into the data to identify opportunities and report performance to the senior leadership team.
About the role
You are in full control of Car & Classic’s outbound customer communications. Through smart user segmentation and highly relevant content recommendations you create powerful marketing messages via Email, SMS and App which delight and engage our customers!
You will take responsibility for restructuring the existing Blueshift set up to align it with marketing and business objectives, increase its efficiency and implementing a comprehensive CRM strategy for 2025 in line with aggressive growth targets to maximise customer engagement, loyalty and retention.

We’re lucky to have thousands of user-generated listings submitted monthly with content gems from James Bond’s Aston DB5 to Elvis Presley’s Cadillac. The site is old, launched in 2005 but under new, VC-backed ownership since 2018 and on an exciting triple-digit growth journey to bring classic vehicle transactions online.

We’re looking for a CRM Manager who has good, relevant experience and wants to make their mark in a rapid growth business where they can make a real difference, whilst enjoying the environment and culture.
Role and responsibilities
- Strategy Development: Design and implement a comprehensive CRM strategy aligned with overall business goals to enhance customer engagement and retention.
- Segmentation Strategy: Implement smart user segmentation and relevant content recommendations to enhance email effectiveness.
- Email Optimisation: Use A/B testing to improve subject lines, CTAs, and email content to boost engagement rates (open rate, CTR, increased bids).
- Automation and Integration: Automate routine tasks and integrate CRM processes to streamline workflows and enhance customer experiences.
- Performance Measurement: Establish KPIs and metrics to assess the effectiveness of CRM initiatives, reporting on performance and making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Customer Journey Mapping: Analyse the customer journey to identify opportunities for improvement and personalisation, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience.
The skills, attributes and experience you must have:
- Blueshift Expertise: Hands-on experience in using Blueshift for email, cross-channel marketing automation and customer data management.
- CRM Strategy: Proven experience in developing CRM strategies to boost customer engagement and retention. 📊
- Email Marketing: Track record of improving click-to-conversion rates and email engagement, exceeding UK and European industry averages. 📧
- Automation: Expertise in automating processes and creating personalised, dynamic emails to increase efficiency. 🤖
- Data Analytics: Strong skills in using customer data to identify trends, segment audiences, and drive targeted campaigns. 📈
- Customer Journey: Experience in optimising customer journeys and personalisation for a seamless experience. 🛤️
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work with sales, product, and customer service teams to align CRM efforts. 🤝
- Technology: Expertly utilise CRM tools and marketing automation to enhance customer insights and campaigns. ⚙️
- Performance Tracking: Skilled in setting KPIs, monitoring CRM performance, and making data-driven improvements. 📍
