In the beginning
Car & Classic was founded. Launched with a focus on allowing private customers to advertise for free.

Milestone moment
By 2012, we had over 2 million monthly users, becoming the UK's go-to destination for classic car buying and selling.

A new chapter
Tom Wood acquired Car & Classic with backing from Passion Capital and embarked on an exciting new growth journey for the business.

Under the hammer
Our first-ever transactional product. Auctions enable users to sell their car for the best price while using our safe & secure escrow service.

European launch
With the continued success of our UK Auction product, we started taking Europe by storm. Acquiring LesAnciennes and launching our own native Italian & French websites.

One of Europe's fastest growing companies
In March 2024 we were named one of The Financial Times' fastest growing European companies.

Boost baby boost
We launched 2 brand new products, helping dealerships & private sellers to sell their car quicker and for better value through boosted adverts.

Going mobile
Launch of our first ever native iOS & Android mobile applications.

Our recruitment process ✅

Application
Our Talent team will review your application within 1 week. We'll be looking to see how your skills and experiences match our requirements.

Screening Call
A member of our Talent team will give you an introduction to Car & Classic, whilst also understanding your motivations and skills a bit further.

In-depth Interview
You'll meet (virtually) with 1 or 2 people, usually the hiring manager, who will go into much more detail about your experience and skills.

Task Interview
We want to see your practical capabilities by giving you a task which is relevant to the role for which you're applying, this could be a presentation or similar.

References
If your task is successful, we'll conduct some reference calls with former managers, colleagues and direct reports (if applicable). This might take 1 or 2 days to complete.

Offer
Congratulations! If you get to this stage, you've nailed it. We usually give you a few days to think this over before accepting.

Questions, meet answers 🤨

All of our roles are fully-remote, however some positions will require you to be in a certain country, e.g. if your position is a sales position developing the United Kingdom market, you'll need to be based somewhere in the United Kingdom as some of our employees like to visit their clients sometimes.

This is different for each team. As a general rule we have one all-company get together every year, in 2025 we all went to Goodwood Revival.
Separately, teams/departments will then meet up at various points throughout the year, usually twice per year or at the launch of a major project.

If a role isn't on our website it means we're not accepting applications for the position anymore. We process applications on a rolling basis and encourage everyone to apply as soon as they can. We're growing super fast though, so please keep an eye on our careers page.

We approach this through a number of different techniques, ensuring our job descriptions have no bias language, utilising diverse interview panels, providing training to our teams alongside utilising technology such as anonymous applications, fair evaluations and analytics to improve the process.

This depends on availability and as we use a booking system, it depends how quickly you'd like to move. We will normally provide feedback within 2 days of your interview, so you'll know pretty quickly from us how things are going.
